Foreword:
“Global Monte Jade” along with “Monte Jade Taiwan” will be hosting the 1st Global Monte Jade Summit in Taipei during July 29-August 3, 2008. This summit will focus on (1) the outlook of global economy and technology trends after the sub prime and oil crisis around the world and (2) new Taiwan’s national projects (I-Taiwan 12 projects) with global strategies to be implemented by the newly elected government. In addition, international collaboration and business opportunities will be explored.
The soaring crude oil price and sub prime crisis have significantly impacted the US and worldwide economy. The reality of inflation and the slowdown of economy have changed the landscape of knowledge based global economy and new technology pursuit in a major way. This year Taiwan has seen changes with a newly elected government to lead Taiwan into a new era in the global marketplace. Besides I -Taiwan 12 projects, the new government is also establishing Taiwan as innovation and logistic centers for international businesses. It would be well-timed to explore international collaboration and business alliance opportunities.
For the Summit, we are inviting speakers from various industry leaders and government officials from Asia, United States, and Canada including Taiwan’s new President Ma, Vice President Hsiao, Premier Dr. Liu as well as John Chiang, California State controller, Ed Yang, former CTO of HP, Jesse Chen of Maton Venture, Dr. Morris Chang of TSMC, Terry Guo of Hong Hai, Dick Kramlich of NEA, William Overholt of Rand Corporation etc..
In addition, Global Monte Jade will invite the Monte Jade Founders and members who have contributed over the years including Dr. I-Der Chuang and Dr. Carter Tseng and many past chairmen to participate in this historic summit.
